About
I discovered I enjoyed photography when I was a young kid after I being handed down an old point-and-click film camera. I got a Minolta 35mm film camera in my early teens, and I've been a shutterbug ever since.
I made my first photography trip back in the early 2000s while visiting my sister who was teaching in France. Twenty years later, I’m still traveling.
Folks kept asking me for a map. I don’t really country / state count (I think it is a dubious metric) but all the same, here you go.
That said, I will gladly accept my “Best for Last” t-shirt in Fargo, North Dakota, when the time comes :-)
Another reader request: here are all the airports I’ve flown into.
I often get asked why I continue to run a website with the ubiquity of social media. This for me is a form of giving back: in my younger days (waaay in the early days of the internet), I was inspired by Bernard Cloutier’s fantastic travelogues which he continued to update tirelessly until his passing. I even kept a notebook with scribblings about places I’d want to go visit and photograph as I cruised his newest entries. His website still exists and is -in my opinion- an important part of the early internet; I encourage you to visit:
In English: http://berclo.net/paysen.html
In French: http://berclo.net/paysfr.html
In Spanish: http://berclo.net/payses.html
A few years later (still in the internet’s infancy before YouTube and Facebook), I came across the travel website of Dr. Galen Frysinger who curated another fine collection of photo travelogues to well-known and obscure places - you can visit it here.
If I can do the same thing -inspire one person to see the world- then this website will have all been worthwhile….
